Frequently Asked Questions
Home care generally refers to non-medical support with the activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, meals, companionship, and supervision. Home health includes skilled clinical services delivered by licensed professionals, such as nursing, wound care, and therapy. Golden Years provides both, coordinated under one nurse-led plan.
We begin with a free consultation and a nursing assessment. We evaluate the client's medical needs, mobility, safety, daily routines, and goals — then recommend the right combination of personal care, skilled nursing, delegation, or therapy. The plan is reviewed and adjusted over time as needs change.
Coverage depends on the specific services, the client's eligibility, and the program involved. Some skilled services may be covered by Medicare or Medicaid, while personal care and supported living may be funded through other programs or private pay. We're glad to help you understand your options.
Nurse delegation is a Washington State process in which a Registered Nurse Delegator trains and authorizes a certified aide to perform specific clinical tasks for a particular client, with ongoing nurse supervision. Learn more on our Nurse Delegation page.
All caregivers are background-checked, oriented to our standards, and trained through our nurse-led program. Skilled and delegated tasks are supervised by licensed nursing staff, and we provide ongoing education to keep skills sharp.
